Abstract

Purpose : This study investigated the effects of vocational ethics on nursing recognition, clinical practice satisfaction, and clinical practice stress.

Methods : The participants were 179 nursing students in three nursing college, and the data were collected using the structured questionnaire measuring vocational ethics, nursing recognition, clinical practice satisfaction, and clinical practice stress from October 1 to October 30, 2019. Collected data were analyzed by t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple regression using the SPSS WIN 23.0.

Results : There was a statistically positive correlation between vocational ethics and nursing recognition (r£½.26, p£¼.001), clinical practice stress (r£½.20, p£½.007), clinical practice satisfaction (r£½-.28, p£¼.001). The factors influencing vocational ethics were grade (B£½0.29, p£½.019), nursing recognition (B£½0.34, p£½.001), and clinical practice satisfaction (B£½-0.34, p£¼.001). The explanatory power for these variables was 14.9%.

Conclusion : Based on the results of this study, it will be necessary to improve nursing recognition and strengthen vocational ethics education in the curriculum to enhance vocational ethics of nursing college students.
